Date and time:
Leg one - September 4, 2016
SS 3 Start - 11:21, stage will be closed for the spectators at 9:51.
SS 7 Start - 16:03, stage will be closed for the spectators at 14:33.
Overall characteristics and length:
Special stage "Kachulka" is the second longest in the rally-19,940m. The stage combines different challenges for the crews as for the relief and the asphalt. First couple of kilometers are uphill, the road is wide and slippery. First 1,5 kilometers is very fast followed by a steep uphill part with several hairpins. Afterwards is the junction for "Aglikina Poliana" - there will be a chicane. This part is followed by the classical downhill part to village - Stara reka, where the main road is used. Here the asphalt is old but the grip will be low as the drivers will cut the corners and lots of dust will be on the road. This could be very challenging for the the driver because of the divers and difficult corners. The next part of the stage is new. It hasn't been used in the last editions of the rally Sliven.
The crews are turning left at the junction for the villages Bozhevtsi and Sredorek. Just before village Bozhevtsi the road is narrow with old asphalt. After it there is a faster part before and after the Sredorek. The finish of the special stage is meters befor Stara Reka.
History:
For the first time in the history this special stage will be run this way. The reconnaissance of the stage will be very important for the good results as the crews are not familiar with the stage.
For the spectators:
There are several options to follow the rally on this stage. First of them is to watch first corners of the stage. The road to arrive at the start from Sliven is through Byala. The other option is to use the road to peak Bulgarka through the junction Rakovo-Neykovo and the narrow part of the stage "Stara reka" to reach Aglikina Poliana. Here is important to keep in mind the hour when the road of special stage "Ichera" will be closed. This way the spectators will be able to watch four runs for the day. Two runs of each stage- "Kachulka" and "Ichera". For the spectators coming from north Bulgaria it is convenient to pass through village Stara reka and reach the junction for Bozhevtsi and Sredorek.
